Sam’s muzzle hung low to the ground, focused on following the hoof prints. In fact, she was so focused on the ground that she didn't notice the fluttering white thing in front of her until it was nearly brushing her ears. She popped her head up in surprise and flared her nostrils. Sammy began laughing, she had finally found the missing sheet that had blown away this afternoon. It was looking a little worse for wear. It had two big tears in it that made it look like a ghost with eyes. The councilor folded it up, tucking it off to the side and then looked down trying to find more clues. She quickly noticed the turned up ground, like the foals had panicked at the sight of the sheet. Not that she blamed them after that last scary story around the campfire, Sammy turned and followed the hoof prints.

After a few more turns she noticed that the foals had yet again turned around and ran away, and she could not figure out why. As she lifted her head, a bat swooped down to get a bug. It made Sammy so happy to see these bats and how those lil guys kept the biting bugs away. She spent a few minutes watching them and made a mental note to add fun facts about “spooky animals” to next year's camp. Sammy felt that more equids needed to know how amazing animals like bats were. She was also sure she and the other staff could come up with a few more animals that were considered super scary but actually did really good things for those around them and the ecosystem.
